San Anton fire. January 16

On the eve of St. Anton, January 16, fires of Saint Anton are celebrated in Almadén. In the Plaza de la Constitucion, they lit a bonfire that warms all the people of Almadén wandering around, while the Image of the Saint is exhibited at the door of the Holy Church of San Juan and they sell the typical buns of San Antón. This festival is enlivened by the Municipal Band.

 
Santa Brígida fire. Late January

This tradition is deeply rooted among the neighbors of the Plaza de Saint Brigida, who by the end of January celebrate it in the same plaza, headed by the image of Saint Brígida, patron of the neighbors. During the festival, enlivened by the Municipal Band, there is usually a taste of the typical buns made at an artisan bakery oven located at the plaza itself.

 
Carnival. Date is variable

In Almadén there is written record of the Carnival celebration since 1720, being nowadays declared Festival of Regional Tourist Interest. In this festival it is worth mentioning the street mask outfits and its “murgas”, students’ bands and musical parades voicing their criticism of what has happened during the year in the town, in addition to praising our land or the beauty of women from Almadén.
Currently, Almadén has a Carnival with an official centenary contest which is open to participation to foreign groups.

 
Easter. Date is variable

There has been a revival of Easter in Almadén a few years ago, being worthy to point out its solemn procession of Silence at the dawn of Thursday to Good Friday and the Holy Burial Procession on the evening of Good Friday.
Some outstanding Images from Almadén Easter in its processions are Nuestra Señora de los Dolores, the Christ of the Miners or the Image of Nuestro Padre Jesus Nazareno, work of Luis Marco Pérez.

 
May Crosses (Cruces de Mayo). May 3

This tradition consists of the making of a cross entirely made and / or decorated with flowers. The neighbors, associations, town hall ... are responsible for making them and exhibiting them in their neighborhoods, at a local place or even inside private homes, to be later blessed by the local parish priest and visited by anyone who wishes it.
In all of them they pray and sing to the Cross and then they celebrate it by inviting visitors, to custard, porridge, typical sweets or snacks, following the culinary traditions of those dates, accompanied with "limoná or melocotoná” (sort of “sangría”)

 
Festivities in honor of San Pantaleón. From 22 to July 27

By the end of July festivities are held in honor of St. Pantaleón. In this Festivity, there is to be the mentioned the combination of fun, entertainment, sports competitions, cultural performances and bullfights.

 
Night routes. First August Friday, Saturday and Sunday

Organized by the Alarife Cultural Association, it is a cultural event that combines culture and leisure, in order to make the mining history of the town known, as well as its monuments, places of interest and history. In each edition, as usual, neighbors make live performances recalling historical events lived in the town since Roman times to the present day, representing famous people of Almadén and historical events of the large and rich heritage of the locality.

 
Festivity Virgen de la Mina. September 8

It is in September when the most deeply rooted tradition invades the streets of Almaden. On the 8th they celebrate the festival in honor of the Virgen de la Mina, patron saint of the miners, culminating in a huge procession starting at the Church of Nuestra Señora de la Estrella and ending at San Teodoro Enclosure, accompanied by miners in their overalls and helmet with flashlight.
Stews contest that brings together friends and associations where each of the participants has to cook a different dish, are also carried out.

 
Festivity of El Cristo September 14

On September 14 there is a celebration in Almadén, the day of the Exaltation of the Cross, better known as Feast of the Christ, due to the great devotion of the people from Almadén to the image of Jesus. On the eve of it, there is an offering of carnations held at the door of the parish accompanied by the Municipal Band. The same day 14, the traditional auction of the objects donated by neighbors and of the flowers bouquet. In the afternoon a solemn mass followed by the procession takes place.
